Objectives

The FiberOptic.com Certified Fiber Optic Installer Exam (TR-CFI) is designed to measure your ability to comprehend and define fundamental fiber optic systems and components.

Requirements

To get pass an exam you need to complete the FiberOptic.com Certified Fiber Optic Installer (TR-CFI) Course.

Written Exam measures your ability to comprehend and define fiber optics systems and components.

  • Exam consists of 75 multiple choice or true/false questions.
  • The examinee will be allowed 2 hours to complete the written portion of the exam.
  • In the event the examinee will fail the written exam, the option to retake exam at a later date is available and additional fee will apply.

Hands-on Exam measures your ability to perform an assigned task based on a skill and proficiency level appropriate to this training.

  • Must successfully complete seven classroom tasks to industry standards.
  • Must successfully identify selected fiber optic system components.
  • Each task takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Credit Toward Certification

When you pass Fiber Optic Fundamentals Exam you will earn full credit toward the following certifications:

  • Full credit toward FiberOptic.com Certified Fiber Optic Installer (TR-CFI)
  • Full credit toward ETA Certified Fiber Optic Installer Exam (E-ETA-CFI)
  • Automatically covered credit toward Fiber Optic Fundamentals written exam (TE-FOF)

Preparation Tools and Resources

Some of the material needed to prepare for this exam will be included with the online portion of this course including annotated lecture slides and a written manual.

You are also provided a course workbook. The National Electric Code Handbook, ANSI\EIA\TIA Commercial Wiring Standards, various training videos and other training materials will be made available for your use during the course.
